Ideas for a Better Life

A Journal - An Idea for a Better Life

Your mind is amazing and powerful. It has the ability to remember, and plan, and weigh the consequences of your actions. But, it can also be easily distracted and lazy. If allowed it will simply run on autopilot, continuing to think and do the same things over and over.

The habit of regularly writing in a journal, and reading your journal, has the ability to counteract these problems. A journal can help you create focus through regularly repeating and refining your goals. A journal can help you better sort through the mishmash of thoughts and ideas that are floating through your brain. A journal can help you find a purpose and live according to that purpose.

In order to make a journal a powerful tool in your life you need to do three things:

  • Make writing in your journal a habit. Do it every single day (or close to it).
  • Take time to reflect on your journal, re-read past entries, determine if what you have been writing has helped.
  • Be willing to experiment with your journal entries, try writing about different things, try different formats. Find what works for you.

To get you started here is a template for a simple, but highly useful, journal entry.

We hope you are able to take this idea, create a habit of writing in a journal in your life, and enjoy the blessings that can come from it.
